Communication studies or communication sciences is an academic discipline that deals with processes of human communication.

There are three types of communication: Communication studies shares with cultural studies an interest in how messages are interpreted through the political , cultural , economic , semiotic , hermeneutic , and social dimensions of their contexts.

In political economics , communication studies examines how the politics of ownership affects content. Quantitative communication studies examines statistics in order to help substantiate claims. Communication science began in earnest when students of Wilbur Schramm —the founder of the Institute for Communications Research at the University of Illinois —namely David Berlo , came to Michigan State University and founded the first General Communication Arts department in the early s.

It is still one of Michigan State's strongest programs and nationally ranked in the study of human communication. Communication studies integrates aspects of both social sciences and the humanities. As a social science , the discipline overlaps with sociology , psychology , anthropology , biology , political science , economics , and public policy. Humanities approaches to communication often overlap with history, philosophy, english, and cultural studies.

Undergraduate curricula aim to prepare students to interrogate the nature of communication in society, and the development of communication as a specific field. The National Communication Association NCA recognizes nine distinct but often overlapping sub-disciplines within the broader communication discipline: Students take courses in these subject areas.

Other programs and courses often integrated in communication programs include journalism , film criticism , theatre , public relations , political science e. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. The community is relatively self-contained - most members can potentially live their entire lives in it or for the period during which they are members ;.

Sharing is part of the community's ideology;. The community has collective goals and needs and expects members to work towards their satisfaction;. The ideology claims that the goals of the community, even if orientated to the benefit of the individual, can only be obtained in a collective framework;.

Ultimately the community, or people appointed by the community, but not the individual, is the source of authority;. The general way of life of the community is considered to be inherently good, i. The community's existence has a moral value and purpose, which transcend the time-span of individual membership.. We should emphasize that these qualities can exist not only in varying degrees, but in various ways.

Sharing, equality, self-containment and so on can be interpreted in many ways and, as we shall see, this is an important factor in the persistence of intentional communities. The point is that where these qualities exist in the eyes of both the outside observer and the members themselves, we have an intentional community..

Belief in or practice of communal ownership, as of goods and property. Strong devotion to the interests of one's own minority or ethnic group rather than those of society as a whole. Pure research and applied research? Pure research is merely to find out what is going on.

Applied research is to find out what is going on so you can use it for some purpose. Why do you do research? To develop something new. Also research, allows you to gain appreciation for the practical applications of knowledge that you learn. It's also an excellent preparation tool for college and the workplace. In the workplace is usually where they're looking for outstanding students, who can identify, solve problems in teams. Also when you do this research you will usually will use the scientific method.

Another good reason is that it helps you latter in life as well. COPAR prepares people to eventually take over the management of a development program in the future. COPAR maximizes community participation and involvement: People especially the most oppressed, exploited and deprived sectors are open to change, have the capacity to change and are able to bring about change.

COPAR should be based on the interest of the poorest sector of the community. COPAR should lead to a self-reliant community and society.

Stell cell research is broken up into a few parts, embryonic stem cell research which is the controversial one in which they take the cells of an embryo resulting in its death, adult stem cell research, in which scientists would take the cells of a human being difference between embryonic and adult stem cell researches is that adult stem cell research is when cells are taken anytime after birth.

Finally, there is another type of stem cell research called induced pluripotent stem cell research where they, in simple terms, genetically reprogram cells to be other types of cells. This does not involve the death of an embryo. The difference in these types is that embryonic can produce many types of cells, adult produces only a few, and induced pluripotent does the same as embryonic.

This research could affect the community in that we would be able regenerate types of cells that otherwise would not be able to such as brain and heart cells. This would be beneficial because this would possibly allow the cure to diseases and health issues that they're currently is no cure for, an example being Alzheimer's spelling? This could lead to longer life spans possibly after much research and time close to what we consider eternal life, with obviously replacing cells repeatedly which would be very costly to a bank account.

Some opponents of stem cell research fear that it could have negative effects on the community. Human cloning is a theoretical possibility of stem cell research that could have big impacts on the way we view one another. Another criticism is the source of stem cells, of which certain types cause the death of an embryo. Anti-abortionists believe that this murder. What do you do in communism?

Have you been to communist countries? I don't think so. I have been there and saw the truth you live normally of course in a different country than yours might be a little change for ya about how you live.

But they live normally just like us. Wake up in the morning brushes teeth eats breakfast goes to work, finishes lunch continues working than goes home finishes dinner and cares about family and reads the Bible or whatever their religion is. You live there normally you buy what you buy you pay for what you need to pay for.

And sometimes you are hungry because there is not enough food for everybody or you have to stand in queues just to buy a loaf of bread. Or the only thing you can get on TV is programs about how good your government is and how good the president is - yes just normal stuff. To correct the above two, Communism has not been achieved nationwide; there are authoritarian "socialist" states, few of whom are socialist, that are labelled "communist" by those attempting to smear it using animosity left over from the Cold War.

Although, conditions in, say, s China or the Soviet Union are underrated, and frequently the average citizen enjoyed a relatively high standard of living than before and, in the case of the Soviet Union, after communism. For true communes, everyone lives and works together in small communities; the social aspect of working ensures relatively high productivity, although true communes have so far been limited to groups of individuals a large group of in New Zealand that tend to be agriculturally based.

Overall, Communism is a "utopian society" idea only achieved in the aforementioned tiny communes, although feasible on a larger scale; and the ideology is smeared by authoritarian socialist nations. BTW--no queues for bread. If you are a selfish person who only wishes for yourself to succeed AKA getting rich , then you won't like communism but if you are a kind person who values equality and wishes there are no beggars on the streets or people living in extreme poverty, then you MIGHT like Communism.

Communism is a system of governance where there are no economic classes or no "low income families" or "high income families". Now, if you drive a Porsche and live in a great seaside house, then you probably won't be too happy donating you car or house for scrap metal to be made into standard houses for the whole country.

If you are Christian then it is because Adam and Eve ate the fruits of sin and if you are not then for you it is because it is human instinct to survive. Either way, Communism will not work because we will all take more than we need for we are greedy. In a true Communist country, there's no such thing as wages, taxes, etc, you work for the country and you receive free things required by you. In this type of society, only human beings who are not selfish and only take what they need will make it work.

Obviously, humans are not like that. In truth, the medicine was taken back home and boiled with water to make soup. You see, that is why no country can ever make Communism work. The word "Communism" has an overall positive affect in poor countries, so how do you seize power easily?

You brand yourself with the word "Communism" and do things that has to be the cruelest and most immoral things in the world, in the name of "Communism". The USA is not too happy with anybody taking power in other countries besides their "type" rich and greedy executives so they brand everyone else other than capitalism as "bad". North Korea is giving them this opportunity as they are in truth, a dictatorship but branded themselves with "Communism". This makes Communism an easy target for Western propaganda.

So now every time you hear the word "Communism" you think executions and mass murders even though that is not the case but as the media has already done a great job at brain washing you, you automatically think that. Communism WILL be good if executed truthfully but no country has any means to do that. If I say I am wealthy, what does that mean? Wealthy based on who's definition? I live in an apartment, I own a car, I have some money put away for retirement, etc.

Not wealthy by western standards but if I were to take all that I have and move to Nigeria, I'd be very well off. Additionally, if you try to make everyone rich, you only devalue the meaning of being rich and therefore you haven't made everyone rich, you've only made everyone the same level, which is usually poor.

Communism also fails to understand that people get to be wealthy not by stealing and cheating but by hard work. When you remove the incentive for someone to work hard because their efforts will be punished taken by the state then why will they work hard? They'll do the minimum because the results will be the same. Communism as a theory looks great The original Jamestown colony functioned like a commune Everyone received equal shares of food and material regardless of whether they worked or not and the colony almost collapsed because The colony florished when people had to earn their keep by working.

Finally, Communism is flawed because the "ultimate goal" is a stateless society where everyone just lives in harmony and there is no need for government. This fails to realize that nature abhors a vacuum. If leadership is absent, someone will step up and take power. This is what Communists today do not understand when they say there has never been a true Communist state Communes are most successful when they exist inside a Capitalistic nation What is ME by research?

It is an external research program leading to the master of engineering qualification. Candidate first contacts a university approved guide and proposes his research topic, then in agreement with the research guide he submits a formal synopsis and short description of the proposed research work.

University registration and admission fees are paid and then the candidate does his research at his work place wherever he is employed. Finally the candidate submits a thesis about the topic and on approval of the guide the thesis is placed before a university panel that fixes a date for interview.

Where is the communism from? Modern form of Communism is based upon Marxism which is the ideology presented by a sociologist Karl Marx in s. Sometimes, but there are people who are good researchers who are unable to speak in front of an audience. Why is it important that research results are carefully written up and made available to the scientific community? Research results should be carefully written up so that theyreflect accurate findings.

These findings can be very useful to thescientific community but only if they are written carefully andexactly. What is a document that you can use to communicate the results of research findings? Google docs is really nice because other people that you of course specify can see the changes in the document in real time.

Within seconds automatically the other persons changes are brought up on your screen. Why is it important for science and society to communicate about stem cell research?
